I originally wore this outfit on Friday, but I didn’t quite like it and the pictures I took of it didn’t turn out at all, so I figured it just wasn’t meant to be. Over the weekend, I ended up trying the outfit again a few different ways (with different tights, with and without the scarf, etc.) and this is the one that stuck. I really like the way my chevron striped cardigan looks paired with this floral dress and I love the blue and caramel colors together.
Eric drove me to class this morning and snapped these pictures of me before heading back to Portland. We took these in front of the Museum of Natural and Cultural History which is actually right across the street from the building I lived in last year (you can see it in the background of these pictures). My literature class is actually in one of the residence halls and also right across the street from my old dorm. It’s so weird to sit in class, staring right into the windows of what would have been my bedroom this time last year!
Since my birthday and Valentine’s Day are only a week apart and both coming up pretty soon, I thought I’d throw together a wishlist for anybody who might be shopping for me (hint, hint, Mom and Eric!).
Since starting college, I’ve realized that painting my nails is a great way to keep my hands busy while I’m studying for tests or writing essays. I’ve been eyeing these neutral, glitzy polishes from Essie (Blanc, Beyond Cozy, and Set in Stones) that would pretty much go with any outfit.
For my sixteenth birthday, my parents got me a bottle of Vera Wang Princess perfume which I absolutely loved and it has been the only perfume I wear ever since. But my twentieth birthday is coming up and I’d like to try a new scent! I’m so indecisive and can’t decide whether I like the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume or the Coach Poppy perfume better so I’d love to get these little roller ball sets so I can try out all of them (plus they’re about a third of the price of an actual bottle – not bad!).
I love these cute little rings from Urban Outfitters (here and here). For only $6 each, I might have to get myself a little birthday/Valentine’s Day gift! 😉
I’ve been really wanting a casual, everyday watch and this Timex set from Target is perfect! It has interchangeable wristbands so I’ll be able to match with every outfit and each option is so classic and chic.
I wore this outfit yesterday for a long day of classes and meetings. Since I had my first meeting of the term for Envision yesterday, I wanted to make sure that I looked cute but not too over-the-top. It was a meeting for an environmental magazine, after all, and I’m not sure how well fashionistas would be embraced there. I went with lots of neutrals and my best thrifted cardigan, so at least part of my outfit was environmentally-friendly!
This is my third term being a part of Envision and, although I’ve mostly enjoyed the experience and met some truly nice people through it, I want to get involved with something that I really care about. In high school, I was the editor-in-chief of our yearbook and that thing was my pride and joy! I spent countless hours after school working on it, shed many tears over it, and even though there were flaws with the finished product, it was so important to me. I’ve been a part of a couple publications since starting college but none have felt like the right fit so far. I’m hoping I’ll find something soon that I can be really passionate about and do my best work for. I might just have to start a campus fashion magazine! 😉
