I finally finished this little polka dot skirt over the weekend. I’ve been working on it here and there since spring term and now that’s it’s done, I am super excited to wear it! I used the same pattern as I did for this skirt, but used a chiffon type fabric that I think works much better and made it a little longer. I love it! I wore it to work with floral print tank (more pattern mixing!) and denim jacket and I couldn’t help looking in all our mirrors at how cute my skirt was!

My main goal in getting dressed for work today was to find something that didn’t touch the sunburn around my neck, so this wide-necked sweater dress was pretty much my only option. It’s a little too short to wear to work so I layered it under a longer skirt. I ended up loving this outfit and my boss (who’s style I totally adore) even complemented me on my pattern mixing! Not too bad for an outfit that thrown together as I was running late!

Yesterday, Eric and I both had the day off from work so we took a day trip to the coast! The beach is one of our favorite places to go during the summer since it’s not too far away, but feels like a mini vacation. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had so much fun! We were out on the beach all day, hanging out in the sun, and even though I got a nasty sunburn, it couldn’t have been a better day!

I wore a sweater and jeggings that I picked up at work the day before (for super cheap!) planning for a cooler day. Even though there were a few times that I got too warm, I was comfortable and beachy and my outfit was even boyfriend-approved!
