We’re finally getting more of that warm sunny weather and it is making me so happy! Even though I’m beginning to dive into the craziness that the end of the school year will bring, I still plan to balance out all the projects, finals, and packing with some time spent in the sun, running, and sewing.
I through this outfit together this morning in a bit of a rush because even though I’ve got a few outfits hanging in my closet ready to wear, none of them really worked for making the transition from a cooler morning to the almost 80 degree weather we had this afternoon. This is such a go-to outfit for me – a skirt, top, and cardigan. It’s so easy, but I love playing around with the combination and mixing patterns is my favorite way to do that. This floral top and polka dot skirt look like they were meant for each other! I also got to wear my new silver bangle today which I was super excited about!
This is an outfit I wore a couple weeks ago when we were still having warm sunny weather. The maxi dress and jean jacket were great for a cooler morning and I shed the jacket as the day warmed up. However, as much as I love the pattern and shape of this dress, the long hem actually limits the range of motion of my legs. Perfectly fine for lounging on the beach, but not exactly the best option for walking across campus.
As a side note, I really like how my hair look here. I got about four inches trimmed off over the weekend and my hair is now in a bit of an awkward stage because it doesn’t react the same way to my regular styling. Hopefully it just needs to grow in a little more because I’m really excited about the slightly shorter length!
I’m actually feeling really good about this week! It’s nice to be coming off of a long weekend at home without a ton going on. However, I know this is just the calm before the storm of finals week and moving back home. I’ll have to enjoy it while it lasts because I know I’ll be turning into a stress-case pretty soon!
On Wednesday, I headed home for the long weekend. I was hoping for some nice summery weather like we had the last time I was home and packed mostly sundresses, but it ended up being cloudy and rainy almost the entire time (apparently we even broke the record for amount of rainfall in a single hour!). As a result, my outfits were not something to get too excited about. However, this little dress was great for dealing with the weather. I wore it with this jacket for a partially sunny afternoon at the park, with a magenta cardigan and ombre flats for a double date with my best friend and our boyfriends, and with a patterned trench to church on Sunday.
It was so nice to be home for a long weekend with little homework. I was able to spend time with my family, boyfriend, and friends and relax the rest of the time. I also met up with one of my best friends from high school before she left for Korea and Europe for the summer and then goes back to New York for school in the fall. I’m so sad that I won’t get to see her for possibly another year, but it was great to catch up before she left!
