I Made It!

Woohoo! You might not be able to tell, but I’m about ready to through a party for myself to celebrate making it through the 30 for 30! You don’t know how good it feels to be posting my 30th outfit! I’m so glad I did this challenge, I really feel like my style has become much more defined after being forced to be creative with a limited number of items. I had some hits and I had some misses, but overall, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished!

Today’s outfit, the last of my challenge, finally incorporated a color combo I’ve wanted to try from the very beginning: navy and mustard. I think that, especially with the white lace top, looks fresh for winter, which is something I struggle with. I usually get stuck in a creative rut during the colder months and I get bored with my clothes. So this year, my goal is to bring in a little bit more color to combat the dreary landscape and keep my spirits high!

  • Cardigan: AE
  • Lace trim top: Macy’s
  • Skirt: F21
  • Tights: Hue
  • Flats: Target

Twenty Nine is Sounding Pretty Good

I tried very hard to get home to take my pictures before it got dark out, I really did. And yet here I am. On the other hand, I did like this outfit. There are two things this challenge has taught me: 1) to experiment with things that don’t automatically go together and 2) the value of a great accessory. I like how the preppy stripes on my sweater take the edge off a black lace dress and the green belt gives a neutral ensemble a much needed pop of color. I think the best additions to my wardrobe right now would be a few more colorful belts to get me through the drab winter (time to hit up the Target clearance aisle!).

However, the best realization I had all day was that I only have one more day left! I really don’t even know what I’m going to do with myself once I’m allowed to wear all of my other clothes! Can I just pile everything on at once or would that be a little odd?

28 Days Later

I’m not sure about this outfit. There’s just something about it that didn’t quite click. Its not terrible, not nearly as bad as what I was afraid I would be wearing by the end of the 30 for 30, but its not exactly my favorite outfit either. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

I really wanted to combine the tiny floral pattern of my skirt with the stripes on my tee. I felt like the navy tights were a natural fit and the cropped military jacket broke up the patterns. I’m pretty happy with all of that, but somewhere along the lines of adding my boots and circle scarf, something just didn’t work quite right.

  • Jacket: JCPenney
  • Striped tee, floral skirt: Nordstrom
  • Scarf: F21
  • Tights: Hue
  • Boots: Kohl’s
