Shades of Gray

My mom recently held a garage sale and amongst a whole lot of junk I unearthed this cardigan that I got a few years ago and have hardly worn. Lucky for me, it’s still in style and is the perfect layering piece for fall. I love the look of the high-collared cardigan over the high-collared blouse. The two pieces fit together to make one cohesive shape that works with the blousy on top, streamlined on bottom look of the outfit.

And so it begins…

It’s November. It’s stormy out. And I’m wearing tights with my Uggs. Anyone who has followed my blog with some regularity last fall/winter/spring may realize that this is soon to be a common recurrence – almost neccessary when attempting to survive Oregon’s cold, wet winters! However, I was still able to add a little variety by layering this summer dress under my cardigan. Comfy, cozy, cute: I like it. The best part about today? The colors have finally started to change on the trees! I can’t help but to appreciate the beauty that comes with fall!
As a side note, I’m signed up for Kendi Everyday’s 30 for 30 challenge! I’m super excited as it’s about time for another challenge, but I’m also getting a little nervous. I’m having enough trouble getting dressed as it is with an entire closet full of options. Hopefully this challenge will encourage me to be creative, not to fall back into old habits of boring sameness!

Halloween 2009

Since today was a homework day with not much in the way of Halloween festivities (bummer!), I thought I’d share my costume from last year. How appropriate that just before I started this blog, my friends and I were dressing up as characters from the Wizard of Oz! I was Dorothy, complete with red shoes and a toy dog. My friends were, from left to right, the Wicked Witch of the West, the lion, Golinda, the scarecrow, and the tinman. We had so much fun and I’m hoping that next year’s Halloween will be just as memorable.
