Remix Looks 12-15

I guess I was feeling very black and gray this week, with the exception of Thursday, which also happened to be one of my favorite outfits. Regardless, I’m halfway through my 30 for 30 and still have some pieces that I haven’t worn yet. This challenge hasn’t been too painful so far and I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Halfway There!

If you’ve really been paying attention, you might notice that this skirt was not one of my original 30 items. I switched the black skirt I originally had for this one because it was way too small! It’s not really cheating if it’s technically the same item, is it? I mean, no one can blame me for growing (or for eating a really big Thanksgiving dinner), right?

Regardless, this is what I wore on Saturday for one of my closest friend’s eighteenth birthday party. It wasn’t any sort of formal affair, but I still wanted to look cute and most of all comfy, so I went with a knit skirt and cardigan. Also, I kind of love all the different stripes going on here!

Fourteen Points

Here’s my version of Woodrow’s Fourteen Points:

  1. This is my first outfit of my second year of blogging (yay!)
  2. and I like it.
  3. I wore this for Thanksgiving dinner with my family.
  4. I’m wearing pink tights (this is very exciting because if you didn’t know already, pink is my favorite color)!
  5. I haven’t worn pink tights since I was really little (and back then they were hot pink), but I really like these as an alternate when my neutrals don’t look quite right, plus they add color in a subtle way.
  6. I really love the pattern on this dress
  7. and I’m remixing it from last Tuesday.
  8. I still can’t believe how I lucked into getting this dress (now I’m trying my luck with another dress by hoping it will still be on the clearance racks in my size when I’m done with the 30 for 30!)
  9. I was so excited that my belt matched my boots perfectly!
  10. Although it was a little constricting during my feast, I mean, dinner…
  11. Speaking of which, my favorite Thanksgiving foods are mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.
  12. I also couldn’t decide between pumpkin and apple pie so I ate both!
  13. I am thankful for my family, my friends, and those of you who take the time to read my random babblings.
  14. On a more sappy note, I’m also thankful for the growth I’ve had because of this blog over the past year, not just in fashion, but in my own self-confidence.
