I love sequins for day when tempered by a cozy sweater. This look is one of my absolute favorites lately – it was so comfortable and easy, but I still felt put together and slightly glamorous. I also was able to wear my studded flats again. I love them because they go with everything! I also really like gunmetal nail polish right now. It provides an interesting contrast to the gold in the rest of my outfit and the sparkle makes me smile when I catch a glimpse of my hands!
Thursday’s theme was formal, but I knew I wouldn’t be comfortable at school all day in a prom or cocktail dress, so I decided to debut this sweet little frock instead! This is definitely my favorite look as of late, even though its so simple. I just felt very pretty all day! The dress is a little nicer than a sundress, but I still had to dress it up with my chain necklace and gold bangle. I also wore my new flats from the day before and I’m oddly loving the black with brown look! I have a feeling these shoes will quickly become one of my go-to items!
My favorite part of this outfit is that it shows just how much influence and inspiration there is with what I wear on a daily basis. On Wednesday, our spirit week dress-up day theme was to wear all one color. Inspired by this outfit in Seventeen, I went with pink. I loved the contrast of the button down shirt layered under a girly skirt. I also was drawn by the use of warm brown tones to complement the pink, since I usually pair harsher colors, like gray and black, with my pink ensembles. I had fallen in love with these flats on Jen Loves Kev so I thought I would give the brown and pink combo a try. I fudged the rules a little bit with spirit week because, technically speaking, I wasn’t in all one color, but oh well! Of course, I had to use some props to get the perfect photo to complement my inspiration image!
