Well, it’s been over a week since my last post, but so much has been happening! For starters, last weekend I went to a Train concert with my parents – it was awesome and we had so much fun! Instead of donning a floral sundress like many of the concert attendees, I opted for a chic black romper with flirty details that I accessorized with vibrant sandals and elegant jewelry. The shades were a must!
I attempted to find a new spot to take my outfit pictures today because I felt this dress deserved something special (more on that later), but after getting into a tangle with some blackberry bushes and various bloodsucking bugs, I gave up and returned to my trusty spot in the backyard. The reason I wanted something a little different was because the dress I’m wearing was designed by one of my very dear friends. She told me that she designed it all around the bright orange zipper as a project for her fashion design class and did an amazing job! I insisted that she let me borrow it so here it is! I wanted to make the vivid orange and blue pop even more so I added a neon green tank underneath. Then I polished it off with a waist-cinching belt and my bow sandals.
Today my goal was to wear something that would allow me to stay cool (at least somewhat) in the heat outside, but still be comfortable in my air conditioned house. I went with this light, flowy sundress and grounded it with some chunky wedges. The jean jacket made the perfect extra layer for time spent indoors and my aviators added a little bit of attitude. The outfit as a whole pulls from a lot of different vibes – the girly dress, the tomboyish denim, the boho sandals – but it all works well together!
