“Global Sophisticate”

I really had fun with this outfit today. Although I don’t look quite like a seafaring traveler as the magazine’s look suggests, I do like the rugged sophistication combo. I’ve had this jacket for three or four years, but haven’t worn it in a while. I’m not sure why! Its the perfect utilitarian piece to go with these sorts of looks! I think falling in love with something I already own is so much more rewarding than buying something new! That’s why I love these wardrobe challenges – they make me think outside of the box.

“Slouchy Elegant”

This is my second Lucky outfit. Once again, I switched a pair of jeans for the cropped trousers to make it a little more casual and appropriate for my day. Also, I was never really sure about the beaded collar trend until seeing it in this feature. Now I actually kind of like them, but I don’t think I will be purchasing one anytime soon. It would make for a great DIY, except for the fact that it would be extremely time consuming. But speaking of which, the necklace I subsituted for it was a DIY project from TeenVogue (a post on that soon to follow)! I needed a statement necklace for this challenge, but, as I’ve said before, accessories aren’t exactly my strong point. However I love this necklace and I am newly inspired to make more of my own jewelry.

“Laid-back Nautical”

This is my first day of Lucky outfits – whoo hoo! I guess I’m starting out easy with this jeans-and-tee-shirt look; its casual and a little less nautical than Native American, but I like it. I based my outfit off of the 29th look in the spread. Instead of wearing cropped trousers and sandals, I chose basic jeans with moccasins. I think this is a good start to June and I’m looking forward to tomorrow!
