“Glamorous Professional”

I was pretty sleepy today, but after contemplating the option of staying in my pajamas all day, I decided to take a nap, get dressed, and do my hair – and I’m glad I did! I really loved the purples in this outfit and I know I’ve been wearing this dress a lot lately, but I also love the vintagey floral pattern. Actually, I’ve worn both this dress and this dress recently. It’s fun to mix things up and be able to wear the same piece many different ways. That is something that having this blog has really pushed me to do. In fact, a classmate of mine wrote in my yearbook that I had never worn the same thing twice and at first I was confused because I wear the same shirts, skirts, sweaters, etc all the time! But then I realized that it meant I had never worn the same outfit twice, which was a pretty cool compliment, in my opinion! Sometimes its been difficult to be creative and not resort back to a sweatshirt and jeans everyday, but I have had a lot of fun getting dressed this year!
Anyways, back to this outfit. My favorite thing by far about what I am wearing is the ring, which was given to me on my sixteenth birthday by my grandmother. It was originally given to my great-grandma by my great-grandpa and my grandma passed it down to me. Its even more special to me today as my great-grandmother, my Nana, passed away yesterday. The ring was a token of their love and now I can wear that love on my finger as a reminder of how much they love me. The ring is beautiful and I even noticed for the first time, while I was photographing this outfit, that the amethyst has blue tones in it that come out in a certain light. So pretty and so special!

“Updated Ladylike”

This outfit was pretty comfy and easy, although not quite as ladylike as the original look. I kind of wish I had a knee-length, full skirt with a cool pattern like in the picture below, but for now this one will have to do!

  • Striped tee: AE
  • Floral skirt: Nordstrom
  • Belt: my mom’s
  • Sandals: LOFT

“Cute Collegiate”

I really liked this outfit, even though my brother told me I look like a cowgirl! I felt very polished and stylish, but in a minimalist way. I suppose the outfit could have used a few cool metal accessories to toughen it up and make it a little less “cowgirlish,” but, as I’ve said before, I’m just not very good at accessories! I’m definitely going to work on that because I think that they can really take an outfit to the next level and I love seeing other people who are pro at combining bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc. to get the perfect look. However, I am excited to finally wear this denim vest as its been hanging in my closet forever – now I’m just bursting with other ideas of how to wear it (I think it would be perfect with cute little sundresses)! Why is it that I randomly get excited by clothes I’ve had for years?
